Nick Dunlap won the 2024 PGA Tour Rookie of the Year and was awarded the Arnold Palmer Trophy, along with a milkshake as a unique addition to his recognition. The 20-year-old American golfer became the first amateur golfer in 33 years on the PGA Tour to win a professional event earlier in 2024. He clinched victory at the 2024 The American Express while playing as an amateur.

Following the win, he turned professional and later won another PGA Tour event at the Barracuda Championship. The 20-year-old's impressive performances in his debut season saw him being adjudged the PGA Tour Rookie of the Year for 2024, and he was presented with the Arnold Palmer Trophy, along with the memorable milkshake.

The PGA Tour shared a video clip of Nick Dunlap receiving the award along with the caption:

"A special surprise for Nick Dunlap 🏆 Jason Gore and @AlabamaMGolf Head Coach Jay Seawell presented the 20-year-old with the Arnold Palmer Award...and a milkshake."

Nick Dunlap started his 2024 season on the PGA Tour with a win at The American Express. However, his first tournament as a professional was at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, where he struggled with his game, shooting rounds of 76, 74, and 73, and finishing in 80th place. He later missed the cut at the Genesis Invitational and tied for 53rd place at the Cognizant Classic.

Dunlap had a mixed season on the greens. He missed the cut at the Players Championship, the Masters, the PGA Championship, and the US Open, among others, but also recorded notable finishes such as T11 at the Texas Children's Houston Open, T10 at the Rocket Mortgage Classic, and T5 at the FedEx St. Jude Championship.
