The 20-year-old American golfer became the first amateur golfer in 33 years on the PGA Tour to win a professional event earlier in 2024. He clinched victory at the 2024 The American Express while playing as an amateur.
Following the win, he turned professional and later won another PGA Tour event at the Barracuda Championship. The 20-year-old's impressive performances in his debut season saw him being adjudged the PGA Tour Rookie of the Year for 2024, and he was presented with the Arnold Palmer Trophy, along with the memorable milkshake.

Nick Dunlap started his 2024 season on the PGA Tour with a win at The American Express. However, his first tournament as a professional was at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, where he struggled with his game, shooting rounds of 76, 74, and 73, and finishing in 80th place. He later missed the cut at the Genesis Invitational and tied for 53rd place at the Cognizant Classic.
Dunlap had a mixed season on the greens. He missed the cut at the Players Championship, the Masters, the PGA Championship, and the US Open, among others, but also recorded notable finishes such as T11 at the Texas Children's Houston Open, T10 at the Rocket Mortgage Classic, and T5 at the FedEx St. Jude Championship.

Dunlap opened up about winning the 2024 PGA Tour Rookie of the Year title during a press conference on Wednesday, December 18. He said (via PGA Tour):
"It's pretty dang cool. The list of the guys that are on the trophy is incredible and I'm honored to be a part of that."
Notably, Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan praised Dunlap for his successful debut season on the PGA Tour. He said (via PGA Tour):
"Nick carved out his place in the PGA Tour record book. To begin 2024 as a collegiate golfer and end it with two PGA Tour victories and among the top 50 players in the FedEx Cup is truly impressive."
This season on the PGA Tour, Nick Dunlap made the cut in 15 tournaments out of the 23 events he played. He recorded two wins and four finishes in the top 10. Dunlap has earned $2,930,385 in prize money this season.
