42-year-old Shaun Norris gets emotional after winning his second DP World Tour event at the recently concluded Alfred Dunhill Championship. The South African golfer registered a remarkable win on his home soil, securing a one-shot victory over Marcus Kinhult, John Parry, and Ryan van Velzen. This marked his second European Tour win after his triumph at the 2022 Steyn City Championship.

Norris shot a brilliant final round of 67 and jumped 13 positions after the final round to claim the trophy. The 42-year-old had tears in his eyes as he celebrated the victory with his family members.

The DP World Tour shared a video of emotional Shuan Norris on its X, writing:

Notably, Norris began his professional golf career in 2002 and has won 13 tournaments in total. However, most of his victories have come on other circuits, such as the Japan Golf Tour, Asian Tour, and Sunshine Tour.

Shaun Norris was pretty impressive on the Japan Golf Tour, where he won seven tournaments. His maiden victory on the circuit came in 2016 at the Leopalace21 Myanmar Open, followed by winning the Japan Golf Tour Championship in 2017, the Heiwa PGM Championship in 2019, the Tokai Classic in 2019, the Golf Partner Pro-Am Tournament in 2021, the Japan Open Golf Championship in 2021, and the Golf Nippon Series JT Cup in 2024.

A look into Shaun Norris's performance at the Alfred Dunhill Championship

Shaun Norris started his campaign at the 2024 Alfred Dunhill Championship with a solid round of 5-under 67. He carded three birdies and a bogey on the front nine and four birdies with two bogeys on the back nine. In the second round, Norris shot 2-under 70, which included five birdies, a double bogey on the 17th, and a bogey on the third hole.

Norris struggled slightly in the third round, shooting 1-under 71 with three birdies and two bogeys. However, he was impressive in the final round, delivering a 5-under 67 with five birdies, an eagle, and a double bogey, finishing with a total score of 13-under.

Speaking about his win, Norris said (via Sky Sports):

"I'm very happy that it worked out this way. Words can't describe [winning a second DP World Tour title]. This last year has been very tough. It's been up and down and all over the place. But thanks to God, my family, my wife, we've kept it together. Winning two weeks ago in Japan and then winning this week - what a blessing."

Shaun Norris competed in six events in the 2023-24 DP World Tour season, missing the cut in three. He recorded a T24 finish at the SDC Championship, T2 at the Johnson Workwear Open, and T42 at the ISPS Handa Championship.
