The excitement among Happy Gilmore fans is increasing, with Adam Sandler beginning the shoot of Happy Gilmore 2. Sandler has started filming one of the most anticipated golf films, Happy Gilmore 2, 28 years after the original came out.
The initial Happy Gilmore was released in 1996 and was loved by millions of people across the world. It collected around $40 million worldwide and has attained a cult-like following, with fans of many generations loving the film. Golf Digest recently posted a video of Adam Sandler from the Happy Gilmore 2 set.
It reshared a video from TikTok user arianahailand, who recorded the video and wrote:
"POV, You open your front door on Monday morning and walk onto a film set. Adam Sandler's there."
In the video, Sandler is initially seen walking with his golf set and then talking to some people around between the shots.
Netflix shared that Happy Gilmore 2 has officially been in production since September 9. The release date of the much-anticipated sequel has not yet been revealed, but it will most probably be some time in 2025.
Christopher McDonald revealed the news of the sequel in a radio interview.
"I saw Adam about two weeks ago and he said, ‘McDonald, you’re gonna love this. “I said, ‘What is it?’ He said, ‘How about that?’ and he hands me the first draft of Happy Gilmore 2," McDonald revealed.

Adam Sandler will continue his journey as a frustrated hockey player turned golfer. And recently he revealed minute details about the plot of the film.
"[Happy Gilmore 2] picks up from an older guy who’s played golf a long time,” Sandler said of the movie's plot. Some stuff goes on in his life, he’s different. He’s a bit of a mess when you meet Happy. And then we try to get his life cooking again."
Apart from Sandler, the movie features Christopher McDonald, who will continue his role of Shooter McGavin. Julie Bowen (who starred in Modern Family) will also keep her role as Virginia Venit. According to Golf Monthly, the NFL star Travis Kelce will play a part in the sequel, and some big professional golfers are expected to play a cameo.
The shooting of Happy Gilmore will feature multiple locations. Sandler was also seen shooting on a beach with a single golf club, and some caught glimpses as they saw him shooting on the streets.
The Happy Gilmore 2 team was also at the Farmview Golf Center's mini golf facility, and the golf course used to shoot the Happy Gilmore 2 will be Fiddler's Elbow Country Club in Bedminster.
