A look into Annika Sorenstam and her son's performance at the PNC Championship

Team Annika started the game with a par on the first hole but then went on to add seven back-to-back birdies. They carded a birdie on the par-4 second and then on the third, continuing until the eighth hole. On the back nine, they shot three birdies and settled for a round of 10-under 62.

Following the event, during the press conference of the tournament, Annika Sorenstam opened up about their performance in the game and said, via ASAP Sports:

"Well, I like the way he putts, very aggressive and he feels very confident. He's a nice partner to have on the greens but also on the fairway, and today overall, we had a great time. The front nine, it just felt like everything was rolling in everywhere, and then obviously the back, maybe not as much. But we had a lot of fun together, and just so proud of him, how he has evolved as a player."

Young Will McGee also reflected on his excitement about being close to the top of the leaderboard after the first round. He said, via ASAP Sports:

"A lot of confidence and getting closer to the top of the leaderboard."

The second round of the PNC Championship will take place on Sunday, December 22, at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club. Teams will tee off at 9:10 a.m. for the round. Team Annika will start their game in a group with Team Kuchar at 10:38 a.m. ET.

The PNC Championship is only a 36-hole event, meaning it will wrap up with its finale on Sunday, December 22.
