US golfer Ben Kohles hit an incredible ace at the inaugral Black Desert Championship in Utah. He is currently placed T4 with a 6-under in the ongoing round 1.

On the par-3 17th hole, Kohles nailed a 130-yard shot to record his first ace on the PGA Tour. The ball initially landed past the front pin before rolling back into the cup. This was the first ace of the Black Desert Championship. It moved Ben Kohles to 1-under through eight holes.

The Black Desert Championship is the 34-year-old's 80th career start. He was the 2023 Korn Ferry Tour Player of the Year, but is still searching for his first PGA Tour win. He lost out in the CJ Cup to Taylor Pendrith, after a bogey on the 72nd hole left him short by one stroke.

Who is leading the Black Desert Championship's round 1?

The inaugral Black Desert Championship began on Thursday, 10th October at the Black Desert Golf Course in Utah. The round 1 is currently underway.

US golfer Kevin Streelman, the UK's Harry Hall, and Swedish golfer Henrik Norlander are currently leading the standings with a score of 7-under each. Streelman was a part of the first pairing to tee off in round 1, along with S.H. Kim and Scott Gutschewski. Norlander teed off with Wesley Bryan and Aaron Baddeley.

The dynamics in the leaderboard may change in the coming rounds. The event is scheduled to wrap up on October 13, 2024. The prize purse for the tournament is a whopping $7.5 million with a 132-player field fighting for it.

The current leaders will face some tough competition from formidable golfers such as Keith Mitchell, Adam Svensson, Luke List, Camilo Villegas among others.
