Charley Hull may not be playing pro tournaments right now, but she's still working endlessly on her craft. After a dominant showing at the Solheim Cup, albeit in a losing effort overall, she is back on the course and taking swings to continue getting better.
She recently said that she wants to improve at golf, and practice seems to be how she's going about that. The English golfer shared a story on Instagram in which she recorded a perfect golf swing in a thrilling black outfit. It was entirely black save for a bright white hat on her head and white shoes. Check it out below:
Hull was working with one of her irons at the driving range. She lined up the shot, brought her club head back, and blasted the golf ball. The sound was impeccable, as was her form. It's difficult to tell the flight of the ball, but it certainly seemed as if she hit it really well.
The next LPGA Tour tournament is not until October 10. So, Hull has some time to relax and practice her swing without playing a full weekend of golf.
Charley Hull opens up on being herself in golf
Charley Hull has been a fan favorite for a long time. One moment at the Solheim Cup embodied that well, as Hull borrowed a lighter from a fan to smoke a cigarette on the course. Doing that at times has been what she's known for. She went viral for smoking at a Major tournament this year.
Hull acknowledged after the tournament that she wanted to quit smoking and get better at the sport. Either way, she's going to be herself and not worry about whether or not fans appreciate something.
Via SB Nation, she said:
“Well, I’m just myself. I — I’m myself. If I like things, I like it for myself. If other people don’t like it, well, it’s not their life. I love me. I live my life the way I want to live it, not how anyone else wants me to live it. I live like a normal person.”
Her friend Georgia Hall also chimed in to say that she thinks she might know why Hull is so well-liked:
“She’s different than everyone else, and that’s why people love her, and that’s why like — she’s just really fun to be around and a genuine, kind person. A great golfer, so obviously that helps. Yeah, she doesn’t care what anyone thinks and goes about her life how she wants. I think many people can learn from that.”
Charley Hull has always been true to herself, and that isn't going to change any time soon.
