Daniel Brown currently co-leads The 2024 Open Championship. The weather conditions are getting worse on day three at the Royal Troon Golf Club, with plenty of rain and cold weather making it challenging for the golfers to compete.
Brown lit a cigarette and had a quick smoke while on the tee as the golfers were taking a bit more time to tee up in the rainy conditions. The camera captured the moment he took out the cigarette from his back but turned around quickly to light up.
The conditions at the Royal Troon Golf Club are getting trickier, with cold and constant downpours posing a mammoth challenge on the moving day. Competing in his first major championship event, Daniel Brown lit a quick cigarette and got back on the tee as he co-leads the event.
Earlier, another English golfer, Charlie Hull, did a similar thing at the 2024 US Women's Open Championship, which was also a major championship event.
Looking back at Daniel Brown's performance at The 2024 Open Championship
Daniel Brown is competing in his first-ever major championship. He was not one of the favorite golfers coming into the week. Brown has surprised everyone and showcased his prowess in challenging conditions at the 2024 Open Championship.
He started his campaign on a high note as he remained bogey-free on day one and carded -6. This round gave him the platform and assisted him to be in the top half of the leaderboard since day one.
Even though he had a mediocre second round, his dominance in the first round made sure that he remained two strokes behind the lead going into the weekend.
The 29-year-old is a regular face on the DP World Tour and has won the ISPS Honda World Invitational in 2023. Brown will hope for a similar result this week and will hope to remain in contention going into the final round.
