At the 2024 Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, former Welsh footballer Gareth Bale had a humorous encounter when a dog stole his ball. Bale teed it up in this week's DP World Tour event when a dog suddenly appeared on the course, grabbed his ball in its mouth, and ran off.

The incident occurred just as the former footballer had taken a shot that left the ball only a few inches from the hole. Before he could continue playing, the mischievous dog swooped in and ran away with the ball.

The DP World Tour shared a video of this amusing moment on its X account.

This week's DP World Tour event features a stellar field, including top-ranked golfers like Rory McIlroy, Matt Fitzpatrick, Jon Rahm, and Tyrrell Hatton. The tournament is being held simultaneously across three different golf courses, with two categories: individual and team championships.

While the professionals are competing in the individual events, renowned personalities such as Gareth Bale, Kathryn Newton, and Jay Monahan have joined the team championship alongside professional golfers. Bale paired with Daniel Brown.
