DP World Tour pro David Micheluzzi claimed a Guinness World Record after sinking a putt from an incredible 139-foot distance. He achieved the record during the Hero Challenge, which took place a few weeks ago.
In the first week of November, the DP World Tour organized the Hero Challenge on the 7th hole of Yas Links in Abu Dhabi. The event occurred just a few days before the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship. Many prominent players, including Min Woo Lee, Justin Rose, Tommy Fleetwood, and Robert MacIntyre, participated in the challenge.
On Saturday, November 30, the DP World Tour shared a video of Micheluzzi successfully making the putt on his second attempt. After the ball dropped into the hole, the Australian golfer lost himself in celebration, screaming and jumping with joy.
Before Micheluzzi, the record for the world's longest putt was held by Jay Stocki, who achieved it from a distance of 122.3 meters at the Baths of Blackwolf Run golf course last year. It took him 237 unsuccessful attempts before the ball finally went in.
The record for the longest putt in a tournament is shared by Jack Nicklaus and Nick Price. Nicklaus accomplished the feat from a distance of 110 feet at the 1964 Tournament of Champions, while Price matched it at the 1992 PGA Championship.
