Charley Hull kicked off the 2024 Solheim Cup by opening the competition for Team Europe in Friday morning's foursomes. She teamed up with Esther Henseleit to face Nelly Korda and Allisen Corpuz.
Korda and Corpuz finished the front nine 2 up, but Hull and Henseleit rallied to tie the match on the 11th hole. The Americans won the 12th and the Europeans won the 13th to extend the tie, but Korda and Corpuz stepped on the gas and won the next three holes to take the point.
On Friday afternoon, Hull teamed up with Linn Grant to take on Rose Zhang and Andrea Lee in the foursomes. The two teams were tied going into the 8th hole, but the Americans won five of the next seven holes to take the match.
On Saturday, Hull avenged her two losses from the previous day. In the foursomes, she teamed up with Esther Henseleit again and they beat Ally Ewing and Jennifer Kupcho 1 up. It was a match that was decided on the 18th hole in favor of the Europeans.
In the afternoon foursomes, Hull was paired with her friend Georgia Hall and they beat Lilia Vu and Allisen Corpuz 2 up.
On Sunday it was her turn to play world number one Nelly Korda again, this time in the singles match. Hull was in extraordinary form and won seven holes to the American's one. The match was decided 6&4 in favor of the Brit in just 14 holes.
Hull overall won three points in five matches, with three wins and two losses. This result is the second-best performance of her career, behind the four points she won in 2015.
