Fans erupted in loud cheers as 2025 U.S. Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley teed off on the 16th hole during the third round of the 2024 BMW Championship. The American golfer has been impressive at the ongoing PGA Tour event, taking the lead after Saturday’s round.
Bradley is now in contention to win the tournament on Sunday, August 25, as he tees off with a one-stroke lead. On Saturday, as he lined up his shot on the 16th hole, a large crowd of fans chanted "USA! USA! USA!" Bradley, energized by the support, responded with a victorious fist pump.

Keegan Bradley has been playing outstanding golf at the tournament. He opened with a round of 66, taking the early lead. After shooting a 68 in the second round and slipping to second place, Bradley bounced back with a 70 on Saturday, regaining the top spot.

During the press conference following the third round of the 2024 BMW Championship, Keegan Bradley was asked how he felt about fans chanting "USA" on Saturday. Speaking about the fans' energy, the American golfer admitted that it was "incredible" and expressed his honor of being the U.S. Ryder Cup captain.
Reflecting on the crowd’s enthusiasm during the third round, Bradley said (via ASAP Sports):
"It's just incredible. Being the Ryder Cup captain is such an honor, and it comes with such a heavy weight of the world, the United States, the players out here. But when you get to feel that energy from the fans, it's really special. I haven't felt that since I played in the Ryder Cup or Presidents Cup, what I felt out there today. That was really cool."
Hearing the fans' cheers boosts Bradley's confidence, and he is looking forward to "carrying the torch" for his national team at the 2025 Ryder Cup.
"I honestly wasn't expecting this. But I love when we come and play in markets that we don't come to, and you can just tell the fans are really excited. For now, I feel like I need to carry the torch for the United States Ryder Cup team, and I hope I'm doing that," he added.
The final round of the 2024 BMW Championship is scheduled to take place on Sunday, August 25, starting at 9:25 a.m. ET. Keegan Bradley will tee off at 1:30 p.m. ET, alongside Adam Scott.
This event marks the second of the FedEx Cup Playoffs. Following this, only the top 30 players in the FedEx Cup standings will qualify for next week’s Tour Championship. Notably, after his phenomenal performance at the BMW Championship, Bradley's projected FedEx Cup ranking jumped from 50th to 4th, making him eligible to compete in the next week's event.
