On Saturday, June 15, Bryson DeChambeau surged to the top of the leaderboard at the U.S. Open after shooting a 3-under 67. However, he had to battle discomfort in his right hip during the round.
During the ninth hole, DeChambeau requested a physiotherapist from a USGA official due to slight stiffness in his right hip.
The physiotherapist arrived after the conclusion of the 10th hole, just before DeChambeau teed off at the next hole. DeChambeau lay on the ground while the physiotherapist worked on his right hip and leg. All this was captured by the broadcaster's heli cam flying overhead at the time.

However, the injury scare didn't affect DeChambeau's momentum, as he went on to pick up three more birdies. The only blemish in the round was a double bogey he made on par 4, 16th.
"It's just something that popped up" - Bryson DeChambeau sheds light on his hip injury at the US Open
Following the third round of the US Open, Bryson DeChambeau shared the details of his hip injury. He said that it was becoming difficult to get through on a few shots.
"I've had it for a long time now," he said about injury. "It's just something that popped up. I've been playing a lot of good golf lately, and working on my house, trying to get my house finished, so I haven't really had time to rest like I want to.
"The two weeks I had off after PGA, I was really grinding and focusing on some stuff there. I wasn't really able to rest. I've just been pushing myself a little bit, pushing the horse a bit. Consequently that's going to happen. But I've got a great team around me to help fix some stuff up," he added.
DeChambeau is set to tee off on Sunday, June 16, at 2:21 PM ET for the final round of the U.S. Open. He is paired with Matthieu Pavon, who shares the second spot with Rory McIlroy and Patrick Cantlay at 4-under.
Bryson DeChambeau has been in great form in the major championships this year. He had a T6 finish at the Masters Tournament and a runner-up finish at the PGA Championship. This is his third straight Major in which he is in contention on the final day. He will hope to hold his nerves this time and lift the second U.S. Open title of his career on Sunday.
