WATCH: Hyped Nelly Korda riles up fans to $50,000,000-earning legendary rock song at the 2024 Solheim Cup

Nelly Korda joined fans to vibe to the signature rock song, 'I Love Rock 'n' Roll', written by Alan Merrill and Jake Hooker, at the 2024 Solheim Cup. This week, Team USA and the European Team are competing in a three-day Solheim Cup at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club.

The tournament started on Friday, 13 September, and recently the LPGA Tour uploaded a short clip of the World No. 1 joining fans to sing the hit song. She waved her hands in the air and sang the popular I Love Rock 'n' Roll lines. Even fans were having fun and singing along loudly.

In a 2022 interview, Alan Merrill opened up about the song, stating that it had "earned 50 million dollars" in "worldwide royalties" at that time. He said, via GuitarPlayer:

"Life has its own way of working things out... I think the song has earned about 50 million dollars to date in worldwide royalties. Considering that the plane ticket cost Jake a thousand bucks, he got a pretty good return.”

Meanwhile, at the Solheim Cup, Team USA took an early lead in the game, and after Day 1, their scores stood at six, while the European Team settled for two points.

Nelly Korda dominates on Day 1 at the 2024 Solheim Cup

Nelly Korda won both her matches on Day 1 at the Solheim Cup. In the Friday morning foursome, she teamed up with Allisen Corpuz to compete against Charley Hull and Esther Henseleit, winning by three and two. Meanwhile, in the afternoon fourball, Korda played with Megan Khang against Georgia Hall and Leona Maguire, registering a win by six and four.

Team USA won three foursomes and three fourball matches on Friday, and is in the lead while heading for Day 2 on Saturday, 14 September.
