WATCH: Jim Furyk arrives in Jacksonville with the Presidents Cup trophy ahead of Furyk & Friends event

US team captain Jim Furyk has arrived in Jacksonville with the Presidents Cup trophy. The US team won the tournament by a margin of 18.5 - 11.5 at the Royal Montreal Golf Club in Montreal, Quebec.

Furyk stepped out of a private jet while holding the trophy. His wife Tabitha enthusiastically gestured towards the cup. He waved and displayed the trophy wearing the US team's Presidents Cup grey jacket with navy blue sleeves, beige pants, and dark blue shoes.

The couple then walked together with Furyk placing the trophy in a black SUV and leaving the airport.

In the post-tournament press conference, Jim Furyk was asked about what it meant to him to win the Presidents Cup. He said (via ASAP Sports):

"It's a lot of fun. Tab and I love these events. We love the camaraderie. We've put a lot of heart and soul into it. Ultimately these players were amazing. It was a really good group of 12, an easy bunch. I had great leadership at the top."

"They made the captain's job really easy, and these guys played their hearts out this week, and they really played well on the back nine," he added.

The 2024 Presidents Cup was held from Thursday, September 26 to 29. Constellation Furyk and Friends will be held from Friday, October 4 to 6, 2024 at Timuquana Country Club in Jacksonville, Florida.

Jim Furyk said he became 'more prepared' at the 2024 Presidents Cup because of the 2018 Ryder Cup

Jim Furyk also led the US team at the 2018 Ryder Cup at Le Golf National in Guyancourt, Paris. However, it lost the tournament against Europe by 17.5 - 10.5.

Furyk was asked what he learned from the 2018 Ryder Cup in the post-tournament press conference at the Presidents Cup. He said (via ASAP Sports):

"I think most of what I took away from '18 is just being a little bit more prepared, being a half a day, half a step ahead of where I was in '18, and it made me feel more comfortable about the groupings we were putting out."

Furyk picked six crucial players that helped the US team win the tournament. While Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele, Wyndham Clark, Collin Morikawa, Patrick Cantlay, and Sahith Theegala qualified for the Presidents Cup with their performances, Furyk picked Keegan Bradley, Sam Burns, Tony Finau, Brian Harman, Russell Henley and Max Homa.
