WATCH: Late PGA Tour pro Grayson Murray gets a touching tribute at The Sentry 2025

PGA Tour golfer Grayson Murray died last year and the late golfer received a heartwarming tribute at the 2025 Sentry Tournament. Murray last appeared at the 2024 Charles Schwab Challenge, where after two rounds the golfer withdrew due to unspecified illness, and following that he committed suicide.

The Sentry's X page shared a photo and a video of the tribute. In the photo, Murray’s name is written on a door’s nameplate and with that, his victory at the Sony Open in Hawaii is mentioned. In the next video, a priest sings prayers to the late golfer. The post came with a caption, that read:

“A hui hou Grayson. 𝘜𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘭 𝘸𝘦 𝘮𝘦𝘦𝘵 𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯.”

In 2021, Murray was struggling with alcoholism and he was also dealing with mental health issues. He said (via EconomicTimes):

“Yeah, my parents have been through, you know, hell and back basically for the last six years with me fighting some mental stuff. It's not easy on me, and the people around me that love me, they don't like to see me down. They've been my number one supporters. There's a few friends as well that have been there and it makes these moments a lot more special.”

“Best thing and worst thing that ever happened to me was winning my rookie year, but also feeling like I was invincible. I'm a different man now, and I would not be in this position right now, today, if I didn't put that drink down eight months ago.”

Murray's Sony Hawaii triumph took him to a career-high rank of 46th on the Official World Golf Ranking.
