Nelly Korda glammed up in a black dress during the Solheim Cup Gala. The American golfer is gearing up to compete at the team event, facing the European Team this week.
Ahead of the commencement of the event, there was a gathering for all the players. The US Team, consisting of Nelly Korda, Lilia Vu, and Meghan Khang, among others, lit up the stage in stunning matching black ensembles.
Korda donned a body-fitted black dress. She opted to keep her hair open and had a bracelet on one hand. Moreover, the World No. 1 carried a purse to complete her look. She looked stunning as she walked on the red carpet.
Nuclr Golf shared a picture of Korda from the Solheim Cup Gala on its X (formerly Twitter) account, and captioned the tweet:
"Nelly Korda arriving on the red carpet earlier this evening for the Solheim Cup Gala. @NellyLegion."
Notably, the Solheim Cup is a biennial team tournament that was last held in 2023. For the first time in the event's history, it returns for two back-to-back editions in consecutive years.
Last year, the European Team retained their title after finishing in a tie with Team USA. In 2024, the prestigious tournament will take place at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Gainesville from September 13 to 15.
"This year has kind of been a crazy year"- Nelly Korda opens up about her successful year in golf
Korda has won six LPGA Tour titles in 2024, including her phenomenal five wins in a row. Her winning streak started with a victory at the LPGA Drive-On Championship, followed by her victory at the Fire Hills Se Ri Pak Championship, Ford Championship, T-Mobile Match Play, and then a Major title at the Chevron Championship. In addition to this, the 26-year-old golfer has also competed in the Paris Olympics and is now preparing for the Solheim Cup.
During a press conference on September 10, Korda was asked by a reporter about her successful season. The two-time Major winner shared her thoughts on her 2024 season. The World No. 1 also went on to express her gratitude for being able to represent her country (via ASAP Sports):
"This year has kind of been a crazy year, I feel like. Bradenton feels like a lifetime ago. Getting to clinch my spot on the team so early on in the season definitely means a lot. Getting to represent my country, I've been lucky enough and honored enough to do it a couple of times, and every single time, as Megan said, whenever you get to wear the red, white, and blue and stars and stripes, there's a different meaning to it.
"You're playing not just for yourself, but for your captains, for your teammates and your country, and there's just nothing like it," she added.
Notably, this is Korda's fourth consecutive appearance at the Solheim Cup, having previously represented Team USA in 2019, 2021, and 2023. With an overall score of 7-4-1 at the event, it will be interesting to see her performance this week.
Korda will be joined by Allisen Corpuz, Lauren Coughlin, Ally Ewing, Megan Khang, Jennifer Kupcho, Alison Lee, Andrea Lee, Sarah Schmelzel, Lexi Thompson, Lilia Vu, and Rose Zhang on the US team.
