William Mouw had a rough second round because of a notorious 16th-hole bunker at the American Express 2025. The PGA Tour rookie played the second round at Pete Dye Stadium Course on Friday, January 17.
Mouw scored 4-under 68 with the help of six birdies against two bogeys. He started well in the second round with two birdies on the 1st and 8th holes against a bogey on par-4 second on the front nine. On the back nine, he scored a birdie on the 11th hole.
However, disaster struck on the par-5 16th hole on the second shot when his attempt to reach the green in two ended up in a left greenside bunker. He failed to escape the bunker on the third shot as his ball reached the right rough. His efforts failed to yield results until the 11th shot when his ball finally reached the green.
