A presidential debate is always interesting, but what if the discussion shifts to golf? Recently, a debate occurred between the former president and golf enthusiast Donald Trump and the current US president, Joe Biden.
This happened on Thursday, and the primary debate topics were the economy and immigration. However, the conversation suddenly intensified when the main topics subsided, and both started taking jabs at each other about golf. A post shared by NUCLR Golf showed them having a debate with each other regarding handicaps. In the clip, Joe Biden claims to be a six.
“I got my handicap when I was vice president, down to six,” said Joe Biden.
However, Donald Trump strongly denies it. On that note, Biden further scorns Trump and asks Trump to carry his bag to a golf tournament.
Also, Trump bragged about his fitness in the debate and how he would become 82 by this year. He stated that he had won two championships at this point.
“To do that, you have to be quite smart and you have to be able to hit the ball a long way,” said Trump.
In the end, Donald Trump calls out Biden’s claims to be “the biggest lie of all.” “I’ve seen your swing. I know your swing,” adds Trump.
This isn't the first time their enmity became evident to the public. In December, the former president was playing on the greens of Trump Doral and took a nice drive. After taking the shot, he whispered a few words attacking Joe Biden.
“Do you think Biden could do that? I don’t think so!” said Donald Trump.
The elections are going to be held later this year in November for the next US president.
Donald Trump’s golf exploits on the courses
Donald Trump's love for golf has been evident in a lot of instances. He played alongside many top-tier figures as well. For instance, Indian cricketer MS Dhoni shared swings with Trump. More, he also played with Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus, and Sergio Garcia in 2022.
Trump also designed several courses that go by his name. The most popular of which is Trump National Doral, where LIV organized events. Trump built 17 golf courses by 2016 and the 2022 PGA Championship was supposed to be organised on one of these courses. But later the event was moved to Southern Hills. For the LPGA Tour, Trump's courses came in handy as well. The 2017 US Women's Open was held at Trump National First Course.
Some of the significant golf courses by Donald Trump are Trump National Golf Club, Florida, Trump National Golf Club, Washington, DC, and more. Trump’s golf endeavors also include philanthropic ventures which were executed through charity tournaments. Recently, he raised $1 million in Georgia and New Jersey.
