On Saturday, September 21, Mark O'Meara's illustrious professional golf career came to an end at the PURE Insurance Championship. On the 18th hole at Pebble Beach, he couldn't hold back his tears.

Mark O'Meara is a sixteen-time winner on the PGA Tour and has won two major championships in his career. He turned professional in 1980 and played the final round of his career on Saturday.

The PGA Tour shared a video on X where O'Meara can be seen breaking down after finishing his career at Pebble Beach. Here's the clip:

The 67-year-old veteran carded a 1-over 73 in the second round of the Pure Insurance Championship and aggregated 9-over after 36 holes.

Turning pro in 1980, O'Meara won his first title in 1984 at the Greater Milwaukee Open. His second win was at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am (formerly called the Bing Crosby National Pro-Am), and he went on to win at Pebble Beach four more times in his career.

Recently, O'Meara mentioned that he wouldn't take a spot from another player and was going to call time on his professional career.

"I just don’t want to be a ceremonial golfer, and I’ve kind of been somewhat of that," he said as per Golf Digest.

Mark O'Meara won 34 titles in his professional career, with sixteen coming on the PGA Tour. Besides, he won three times each on the European Tour and Senior Tour.
