TGL's Rickie Fowler and his New York Golf Club team members have revealed one thing they believe the PGA Tour should take from the Tomorrow Golf League. Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy's much-anticipated golf series TGL debuted on January 7, with the match between The Bay Golf Club and New York Golf Club.
The series has a unique format, which is different from traditional golf. Its matches are played on simulators and in a team format. During the press conference of the January 7 match, Fowler and his team members, including Xander Schauffele and Matt Fitzpatrick, were asked about the TGL series. A reporter asked:
"Is there a rule in TGL gameplay that you guys think could be translated realistically to traditional golf?
All three players said at the same time:
"Shot clock"
Notably, the TGL has a shot clock, which gives players limited time to take their shots. In the series matches, players only have 40 seconds to hit the shot, and if they exceed the timing, a one-shot penalty is given.
TGL has six teams with four players each. However, only three of them can play in a match. Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy will also play in the series.
Below are the TGL's teams and their players:
Atlanta Drive GC

How did Rickie Fowler's team play in its TGL debut match?
New York Golf Club had a tough start at the TGL. It lost the match against The Bay Golf Club by 2-9. The game was held on only 15 holes, with the first nine holes played in triples, while the concluding six holes had singles matches.
New York Golf Club started the game with a loss on the first hole. The second hole resulted in a draw, but then The Bay Golf Club quickly took the lead and went four back-to-back holes. However, the New York Club tried to bounce back with a victory on the ninth hole.
In the singles, The Bay Golf Club dominated the game again and won three holes, while New York Golf Club could only win one. Ultimately, The Bay Golf Club won the inaugural match of the TGL. The next will be held on January 14 between Jupiter Links Golf Club and Los Angeles Golf Club.
