The PGA Tour shared a video of Rory McIlroy replicating his dad, Gerry's impressive shot, which the senior McIlroy made at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
The Northern Irish golfer was joined by his father for this week's DP World Tour event, which features individual events for professional golfers and a team championship, where amateurs play alongside professionals. Both tournaments are taking place simultaneously across three different golf courses.
The PGA Tour recently uploaded a video of Rory's shot, where he hit the ball from down a slope and it went straight into the hole. His father Gerry had played a similar shot at the Carnoustie Golf Course in the first round of the 2024 Alfred Dunhill Links Championship on Thursday, 3 October.
Senior McIlroy took a challenging shot from the fairway which went straight into the hole.

"He didn't play very well at all"- Rory McIlroy on his dad's performance at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship
Rory McIlroy opened up about his father's performance during the first round of the 2024 Alfred Dunhill Links Championship on 3 October. The father-son shot three birdies on the front nine and two on the back for a score of 5-under 67.
In the post-round press conference, the four-time Major winner spoke about his dad's performance and said, via ASAP Sports:
"He didn't play very well at all. He bettered me by two, which was nice, but there's definitely room for improvement there for both of the McIlroys. Lovely to be out here with him. We've done this a few time before."
Despite a rough start, Rory remained hopeful for the upcoming rounds and revealed that it's his father's 65th birthday on Saturday, 5 October. He added:
"It's his 65th birthday on Saturday. So to be able to stroll around the Old Course with him on the 65th is going to be a pretty cool occasion. Delighted to be out here with him, and hopefully we can make a few more birdies tomorrow (Friday, October 4)."
For the second round, they competed at Kingsbarns Golf Links and shot six birdies. They began their third round at the Old Course at St Andrews, playing three holes so far. They had a good start, making two back-to-back birdies.
