Young tennis sensation Carlos Alcaraz is currently Down Under for the 2025 Australian Open. The Spaniard had a crucial match quarterfinal match against tennis legend Novak Djokovic.

Interestingly, Alcaraz was seen practicing his golf swing ahead of this crucial clash. The 21-year-old tennis player rehearsed his golf swing in the player gym, and NUCLR Golf reshared the Australian Open's video on their account.

The 21-year-old tennis star's obsession with golf is not new, as Carlos Alcaraz earlier revealed he loves playing golf and does it to disconnect.

"Yeah, I try to play as much as I can, golf. You know, that's to... yeah, disconnect. I love that for me, it's really helpful that when you're not training or you're not in competition just to think, you know, the things that are not in tennis. For me it's really helpful," Alcaraz said.

Unfortunately, Alcaraz lost the quarterfinal against Novak Djokovic today (January 21). The Spaniard began the game in style and won the first set. It looked like he would get better of the 24-time Grand Slam winner.

But Djokovic, with all his experience, bounded back and did not allow Carlos Alcaraz to take any advantage in the remaining sets. He made his way to the semi-final with a score of 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, 6-4, eliminating Alcaraz from the Australian Open.

Tennis stars who love playing golf

Carlos Alcaraz is not the only tennis star who plays golf. There are prominent names who take up this sport for recreational purposes and have eventually become good golfers as well. Two such prominent names are Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic.

Rafael Nadal

Rafael Nadal has often talked about his love and admiration for golf. He also won a couple of tournaments, including the Balearic Mid-Amateur Golf Championship. Recently, Carlos Alcaraz showered praise on Nadal's golfing abilities.

"Hopefully. We talked to play golf one day, but I can't compete against him in golf. He's so much better than me. I have to practice a lot of years for now, but yeah, that's something that helped me a lot, to turn off my mind a little bit," Alcaraz said.

Novak Djokovic.

The Serbian golfer showcased his golfing prowess to the world for the first time in the 2023 Ryder Cup all-star match. Although he is not as open as Nadal about his love for golf, he does play this sport recreationally to disconnect or get refreshed.
