Barstool Trent, a golf insider working with the giant media company, has been involved with the sport for some time, but a Tiger Woods moment remains the "greatest" thing he's experienced thus far.
Through all the years that Barstool Trent, also known as Trent Ryan, has worked for Barstool and covered golf in some capacity, this moment with Woods reigns supreme. Woods was with several golf content creators and he helped them play a difficult hole.
He asked Ryan questions ahead of his shot, one that the insider admitted he didn't think he could do. Woods gave him some advice on how to approach it. He stepped up and took the shot.
Woods gave his advice after careful consideration and called the initial swing "beautiful" several times while the ball was in the air. Given the overwhelming excitement by the Barstool crew, Woods picked up that this was a big moment for Ryan.
He joked with Ryan that this had to be "normal" for the golf analyst since he has a good shot shape and just needed a little bit of guidance on how to approach it. It was Woods' way of complimenting Ryan and telling him that he has a good swing.
It's rare for anyone to get a compliment from such an accomplished golfer. For someone like Woods, who has 15 Majors and 82 PGA Tour wins, to say this about a non-professional golfer is very high praise. It remains the "greatest" moment of Ryan's life.
Tiger Woods not focused on Genesis Invitational amid LA wildfires
As wildfires rampage across Southern California, the Genesis Invitational is in jeopardy. Tournament host Tiger Woods believes the tournament is inconsequential compared to the ongoing devastation in Los Angeles (LA).
He said he knew people who'd lost everything in the fires, and that the tournament wasn't the focus right now via ESPN:
"We're trying to just figure everything out and make sure that everyone is safe, and we have meetings scheduled going forward. But as of right now, we're not really focused on the tournament. It's more about what we can do to help everyone who's struggling, who's lost homes and had their lives changed."
The PGA Tour is yet to announce any changes to the schedule for the Genesis. It's not until February 13-16, but there's no telling when the fires will cease totally and when the area will be recovered enough to host a golf tournament like that.
Tiger Woods added that there are "so many other things" that are bigger than the Genesis right now and that they'll just have to have meetings to figure out what to do if it comes to that.
