Tom Kim enjoyed a heartfelt moment with Scottie Scheffler's son Bennett at the 2024 Hero World Challenge. The 25th edition of the tournament concluded on Sunday, December 8 at Albany Golf Course in Nassau, Bahamas.
After the tournament, Kim could be seen interacting with Scheffler's family in a video shared by the official page of the PGA Tour on X. In the initial frames of the clip, Scheffler was enjoying a warm moment with his wife, Meredith, and his son Bennett. The toddler was cradled by his mother in a baby carrier.
Soon after, Kim joined Meredith and Bennett. Kim, dressed in a navy blue golf polo and white pants, was congratulated by Scheffler's wife for his performance at the tournament. Kim then greeted the seven-month-old with, "Hey buddy, Hi buddy!"
Kim then leaned in and said: "He's grown!" In the short clip, Meredith can be seen asking Bennett to say "Hey Uncle Tom" and "I'm proud of you Tom."
Scottie Scheffler and Meredith welcomed Bennett on May 8, 2024, with Scheffler taking a three-week off the course after RBC Heritage for the arrival of his first child. He even said that he'd withdraw from the 2024 Masters if his wife went into labor during the tournament.
Scheffler won the 2024 Hero World Challenge, marking his ninth win in the 2024 calendar year. Praising him, his friend Tom Kim said (via Korea JoongAng Daily):
"He comes out here and wins. He does it all the time. I think the biggest thing that I see is that he's always trying to get better. He wins 95 percent of the time. You know, after he's become a dad we haven't been able to hang out as much, but just if we have time, he'll text me and I'll ask him."
"But again, he's become a dad, so things have changed. I'm so happy for him. I can't wait to go out there and give him a hug," he added.
Scottie Scheffler won the tournament by six strokes and took home a prize money of $1 million.
