The 35th edition of the American Century Championship has a field of 90 players. The Kelce incident happened on the first hole of the first round on Friday, July 12. Kelce was partnered with his brother Jason and The Miz for the first day.
In the New Heights podcast before the tournament, Jason asked Travis for advice for the tournament. Travis joked and said (via "New Heights" podcast):
"My advice would be just don't feel bad if you hit somebody because they bought the ticket. It's a bunch of amateurs out there trying to play golf, so don't feel bad. People have been hit before. They got EMTs, whatever it's called, they got right there at every hole. Everybody will be fine."
Travis Kelce finished tied for the 62nd position while his brother Jason tied for the 88th position. Miz tied for the 84th position. NFL star Adam Thielen who played golf in his school, is on the top of the leaderboard with 24 points. He is followed by 2020 Champion and tennis player Mardy Fish.
