The Netflix docu-series on golf, "Full Swing," was released this week. The much-anticipated documentary is getting some good praise from both fans and critics.

Golf Swing's executive Chad Mumm revealed in a press conference that they shot over 700 hours of footage to produce eight episodes of 45 minutese each.

"We shot over 700 hours of original footage, revealed Mumm. "And we brought in almost 6,000 hours of archive to make this series condensed down into sort of 8 45-ish minute episodes."

Golf Digest posted the quote on Twitter and fans had something to say about this revelation.

"It was a great way to showcase the players that are still on the PGAT with some DJ and Poults mixed in."
"This was my whole thing…they covered a whole season and condensed it into 8 episodes of 45 min? Is golf that boring?"
"Wasn’t for diehards They only scratched the surface on story lines."

Mumm said he wanted to capture the magnitude of St. Andrews and not just the Open Championship.

"You might be able to tell, I am a golf nerd. I've been obsessed and played this sport my whole life. So just setting foot in Saint Andrews, it's like, how could I do an eight-episode series just on walking around that town? I think our whole focus was always on the players, and I think you'll see that when you watch the show."

Mumm further explained that the plan was never to make a documentary about the Open Championship or a documentary about the Masters but to cover what it is like to compete in the prestigious tournament.

"Certainly, there are, you could do, again, hours of documentary about that Championship, but what we wanted you to understand as a viewer is what it was like to compete through the lens of the guys that we were following that week. So certainly, I think we did a good job capturing the magnitude of some of those moments, and the reason why is because we had a year's worth of context leading up to it, " Mumm added.
