"What they are going through is unimaginable"- Tommy Fleetwood absolutely heartbroken over Southport stabbings

Tommy Fleetwood has expressed his heartbreak and sorrow on the recent Southport stabbings. As per the Guardian, two children were killed and nine others injured in a knife attack.

The incident occurred at a Taylor Swift-themed dance event in Southport. Six of the victims are in a critical condition.

Fleetwood, who was born and resides in Southport, took to X and wrote:

"I am absolutely heartbroken at the news coming out of Southport today. My thoughts are with the families of the children who were tragically killed and injured. What they are going through is unimaginable."

He further said:

"As a parent myself it’s difficult to even comprehend what has happened and what they have ahead of them, but I know the whole community in Southport will come together to support them. My heart will always be in Southport and together with my family we are sending all of our love to the people of my home town."

Fleetwood has a son named Frankie with his wife Clare Craig.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer and King Charles expressed their condolences on the knife attack.

Tommy Fleetwood would next represent Great Britain at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The men's golf event is scheduled from August 1 to 4 at Le Golf National, Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, France. Fleetwood has earlier represented the country in the Seve Trophy in 2013 and Hero Cup in 2023.
