What is Lee Chieh-po's World Ranking? Newest LIV Golf star's OWGR explored

Lee Chieh po, who is known by his English name Max, is currently ranked 223rd in the Official World Golf Rankings for this week. He recently won the 2024 LIV Golf Promotions event and, with that, earned full status to play on the Saudi-backed league for the 2025 season.

Lee Chieh po has been impressive with his game this season on the Asian Tour and recorded some amazing finishes, which helped him secure the OWGR ranking within the top 250. He has won the International Series Thailand this year and recorded some decent finishes in their events.

He was tied for eighth at the Link Hong Kong Open, third at the Black Mountain Championship, and fourth at Yeangder TPC.

Notably, the LIV Golf tournaments do not award any ranking points to the players. Lee Chieh po will be playing on the Saudi Circuit next year, which might affect his OWGR ranking. Meanwhile, currently, PGA Tour player Scottie Scheffler is ranked number one in the world, followed by Xander Schauffele and Rory McIlroy.


Lee Chieh-po on winning LIV Golf Promotions

Lee Chieh po registered a two-shot win at the LIV Golf Promotions event over Taichi Kho and Branden Grace. He was tied for tenth after the second round but took the lead after his phenomenal performance in the third round.

He shot nine birdies and two bogeys for a round of 7-under in the third round and took a two-shot lead over Ollie Schniederjans. In the finale, Chieh po shot five birdies and two bogeys, and with 10-under in total, he won the tournament.

Speaking of his win, the 30-year-old golfer said (via LIV Golf):

“It means a lot for our players. LIV Golf, I think it’s many players’ dream. I go there and they will come.”

Notably, Lee Chieh po is now the first player from his country to have full status on LIV Golf. On the Asian Tour in 2024, he played in 19 tournaments and recorded two top-5 finishes and four other finishes in the top 10, along with one victory at the International Series Thailand.
