The Nexus Cup is a two-day amateur team event that was first played in 2019. It is open to only 18 foursomes, and they will play for two days and will also have the opportunity to meet Tiger Woods.

Format

Teams are divided into three-team flights, and each foursome is split into two-player teams. The A player of each team is paired with the B player for Match 1, and the C player is paired with the D player for Match 2. Each duo will play two nine-hole matches against the other team in the flight. Each match has 10 points up for grabs.

The following day, the twosome pairings of each team will be set by their team captain. Each team will play an 18-hole match, and similar to Day 1, points can be earned even after the match result is decided.

Following the match, each team's two-day score will be combined, and the foursome team with the highest total in each flight will be called the flight winner. The flight winners and flight runners-up will now compete in the Championship Shootout.

Prize

All the participants will get personalized team apparel, head covers, a tour bag, and tournament gear. The winners will receive a Hero World Challenge Pro-Am spot and also get Rolex watches.

Is Tiger Woods playing in the Procore Championship?

Tiger Woods is not competing at the Procore Championship, the first of the eight PGA Tour events of the FedEx Fall series. The Procore Championship will tee off on Thursday, September 12, in Napa, California.

Tiger Woods is not expected to make any official start for the remainder of the season. He played five events this year, and four of them were the major championships. He withdrew from the Genesis Invitational and then made the cut at the Masters Tournament. However, since then, he has missed three straight weekends in the Majors.
