Billy Horschel celebrates Nelly Korda and Scottie Scheffler's performance

Nelly Korda and Scottie Scheffler are on simultaneous historic runs in golf, and Billy Horschel has taken notice. They're both winning at impressive rates right now, having each just captured their first Major of the season and their second career Majors. It's a level of success most golfers don't achieve, but they're playing at this level at the same time.

Horschel said it is something he's experienced personally, but never for this long. The golfer has played well for a stretch, but not like what these two are doing. He said via the PGA Tour:

“I had a three-week stretch where I finished second, first, first and I thought I was something special at that time, but what Nelly and Scottie are doing is unreal,” said the golfer.

Horschel said he just couldn't imagine playing like that. He said both of them have been on for almost eight weeks, calling it unreal golf. Horschel also went on to say that today's generation of talented players just makes their reign of dominance even more impressive.

He did hesitate to say that this kind of success won't be achieved again, because he has faith that the future stars of the game are going to be very good. Horschel said:

"You just have to stand up and applaud them because it's pretty special. You know, as a golf fan, I'm just lucky to be able to see that because at the end of the day, I'm a golf fan at heart," he added.

The PGA Tour veteran has played well at times in his career, but even he has to marvel at what he's watching and what he's facing every weekend on the golf course.

Exploring how good Scottie Scheffler and Nelly Korda have been

Scottie Scheffler began his run five starts ago, as did Nelly Korda. Scheffler won the Arnold Palmer Invitational, a Signature Event. He followed that up by becoming the first back-to-back champion at the Players Championship. A T2 at the Houston Open interrupted the streak, but he was a putt away from tying it on the 18th.

He continued his dominance with a four-stroke win at the Masters at Augusta National. The very next weekend, he won by three strokes at another Signature Event, the RBC Heritage.

Korda began winning five starts ago, winning four consecutive events before coming into the Chevron Championship, the first Major of the LPGA Tour season. She won by two strokes after coming from behind, making it a perfect five for her.

Scheffler's been great, but he took notice of Korda's success as well:

“I think we’ve all seen the golf swing; I wish I could see it more in person. Obviously some great golf, some historic stuff, and hopefully she keeps it up," he said.

The state of golf has a lot of question marks right now, but there's no question that both Korda and Scheffler are all-time talents currently dominating their respective tours. That at least bodes well for what the future holds for the sport which is currently undergoing some changes.
