Bryson DeChambeau's final putt on the 72nd hole bestowed him with a second US Open triumph. Next up, the 2024 US Open winner is looking forward to his next LIV venture in Nashville. The event will take place from June 21st to June 23rd, boasting a purse of $20 million.
Apart from the Nashville event, DeChambeau is likely to feature at the LIV Golf Andalucia (July 12-14), the Open Championship( July 18-21), the LIV Golf United Kingdom (July 26-28), LIV Golf Greenbrier (August 16-18), LIV Golf Individual Championship (TBC), and LIV Golf Team Championship (TBC).
Given his current form, DeChambeau is expected to do well in these upcoming tournaments. Last week at the US Open, the golfer swung excellently to win the US Open title. Later, he thanked his family and close ones on Instagram.
"This one was for my fans, Payne, and my dad. Without a doubt, this was one of the most meaningful weeks of my life. Having all of the support from everyone out on course and around the world is definitely something I will cherish forever and never forget. I cannot thank my team, my family, my fans, and the game of golf enough for allowing these kind of moments to happen. This is only the beginning to a long story that has yet to be written. See you all at the next one!" DeChambeau wrote.
Earlier this year, he had T6 and T2 finishes at the Masters Tournament and the PGA Championship. Then, on the LIV circuit, he had four top-ten finishes. He landed at T9 and T4 at LIV Golf Las Vegas and LIV Golf Jeddah. Followed by T6 and T7 at LIV Golf Hong Kong and LIV Golf Miami.
Bryson DeChambeau's performance at the 2024 US Open
Bryson DeChambeau displayed his marvels at the Pinehurst course and bagged $4.3 million. He showed a zealous performance since the opening day and carded four birdies to end at 67. He had only one bogey in round one. The next day, he fired five birdies and finished at 69. After round two, Ludvig Aberg was on top of the leaderboard.
But not for long, as Bryson DeChambeau surpassed Aberg in the third round. He fared well to bag six birdies throughout the day. The score stood at 67. Bryson DeChambeau started Sunday with 7-under and received tough competition from Rory McIlroy, who started at 4-under.
The round saw a neck-to-neck fight. After hole 16, both stood at 6-under and only a birdie on hole 18 could save DeChambeau. But DeChambeau parred that hole. Finally, Rory McIlroy’s unfortunate bogey on 18 came as a boon in disguise for the 30-year-old. He ended with 6-under and McIlroy settled for runner-up place.
The triumph also moved DeChambeau up on the OWGR leaderboard. He is in 10th place on the list, replacing Max Homa. His upcoming major event is the Open Championship, which will take place in July.
