Bale got off to a good start in a debut match while playing with 156 amateur golfers. He finished T18 after the first round.
Gareth Bale stunned the commentators with his golf shots. One announcer said:
"Got a drop of the path. This is where he's hitting his third shot at the second. He goes low and he hits an amazing shot inside four feet."
The former wales captain also discussed his shots in his interview and said:
"It was a great shot and I just tried to play into the bank and hope for the best like most amateurs do.
"It was nice to see it roll up nice and close and he was pretty much in for par so I was like 'I will pick it up' and he made me putt it because he was like 'this is going to be the greatest up-and-down'.
"I finished off nicely and it was a great shot, I can't really say much more."
The 33-year-old made a very strong impression in his debut match and even professional golfers could not hold back from appreciating him. World No. 3 Jon Rahm said:
"I told Gareth, you can't be so good at professional football and golf at the same time, it just doesn't seem fair!"
He added:
"Can't be dedicated to one thing and have this much talent for golf, it's not fair in the slightest. You can tell he loves this sport, he loves golf and he really wants to get to play a little bit more."
Noticeably, Aaron Rodgers won the 2023 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am tournament in the amateur category while playing alongside Ben Silverman.
