Scottie Scheffler will next play at the 2024 Presidents Cup. The 15th edition of the tournament is scheduled to be held from Tuesday, September 24 to Sunday, September 29 at the Royal Montreal Golf Club in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
Team USA competes with an international team, excluding players from Europe, at the tournament. Scheffler has confirmed his participation in the tournament on various occasions. In a press conference earlier this year at the Travelers Championship, he said (via Golfing Gazette):
"Yeah, I’m playing The Open, the Olympics, and then the last three playoff events, then I think I should be on the Presidents Cup team and then I’ll take a break."
As things turned out, Scheffler has followed this schedule. He most recently played at the 2024 Tour Championship at East Lake Golf Club where he registered his eighth victory this year and seventh on the PGA Tour. He won by four strokes over Collin Morikawa.
In the post-tournament press conference, he said (via ASAP Sports):
"It's been a long year. It's been a very fun year. I think emotionally right now I'm pretty drained. So I'm looking forward to going home and getting rest for a week or so before I start prepping for the Presidents Cup because that's a tournament that I really want us to go out there and win."
The 28-year-old hasn't officially committed to any tournaments after the Presidents Cup, and has said that he'll take a break after the Presidents Cup. He has played in 20 tournaments this year including 19 on the PGA Tour.
Last year, he only played one tournament after the 2023 Tour Championship, the 2023 Hero World Challenge. He won the tournament last year and will possibly look to defend his title at this year's edition, scheduled from December 5 to 8 at Albany GC in Albany, Bahamas.
Scheffler is also eligible to participate in the 2024 World Wide Technology Championship at El Cardonal at Diamante in Los Cabos, Mexico. He participated in the tournament in 2022.
