Day 1 of The Open Championship 2024 will tee off at 01:35 am ET on Thursday, July 18. The event will mark the return of Tiger Woods to the competitive golf field after the US Open last month. Notably, Woods will take his first tee at 09:37 am ET alongside Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay.

The 15x Major champion will follow the pairings of Wyndham Clark, Hideki Matsuyama and Brooks Koepka, teeing off at 09:26 am ET. Meanwhile, the grouping of Collin Morikawa, Sam Burns and Si Woo Kim will follow him on the first tee at 09:48 am ET.

The ace golfer will compete alongside the other 157 players for the prestigious Claret Jug and a $3,100,000 winner’s paycheck from the $17,000,000 prize purse.

Coming on the back of a missed cut at the PGA Championship and the US Open, Woods will be eyeing a strong comeback this weekend. Speaking ahead of the event at Royal Troon, the golfer also exuded confidence that he can still ‘compete and win.’

It is also noteworthy that the 82-time PGA Tour winner arrived in Scotland last weekend, days ahead of his competitors to practice.
