Zach Johnson's last PGA Tour win came at the 2015 Open Championship. He won the tournament in a four-hole aggregate playoff over Louis Oosthuizen and Marc Leishman.
Johnson is currently competing at the 2025 Sony Open in Hawaii. The second round concluded on Friday, January 10, at Wai'alae Country Club in Honolulu, Hawaii.
He is tied for sixth with an aggregate score of 8-under 132 after the second round. He's two shots behind Denny McCarty and Patrick Fishburn, who are on the top of the leaderboard.
The 48-year-old scored five birdies against a bogey in the first round and carded 4-under 66. He notched three birdies and an eagle against a bogey in the second round to card 4-under 66.
Talking about his second round, Zach Johnson said (via ASAP Sports):
"Game feels great. Haven't really looked at the board. Based on the fact I'm doing interviews, can't be that bad. Yeah, I've been encouraged with my game for months. That sounds really generic, but, again, I have. I just haven't seen it. I haven't competed. Played basically one and a half weeks in the fall because I'm not going to miss a Friday night light."
Zach Johnson had an average 2024 season with 10 cuts in 18 starts. He failed to have a top-10 finish but had four top-25 finishes. He finished 145th in the FedExCup standings and 162nd in the FedExCup Fall standings.
Kensei Hirata, Eric Cole and Paul Peterson are tied for third at the 2025 Sony Open with a score of 9-under 131. Of the 144 players who teed up at the tournament, the top 58 and ties have made the cut and will be playing at the weekend.

Zach Johnson turned professional in the year 1998. He has had 26 professional wins, with 12 of them on the PGA Tour. The American also won two Majors including the 2007 Masters and 2015 Open Championship. His first PGA Tour victory came at the 2004 BellSouth Classic, where he won the tournament by one stroke over Mark Hensby.
Johnson is currently ranked 341st in the OWGR rankings. His best OWGR ranking was achieved in 2016 when he was ranked 6th.
