The Genesis Invitational 2025 has been moved to Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego, California. The tournament was initially supposed to take place at Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, California. However, the Los Angeles Wildfires caused the venue change.
The 99th edition of the Genesis Invitational is scheduled from Thursday, February 13 to Sunday, February 16. The Torrey Pines Golf Course will be hosting the tournament for the first time in its history. The course was opened in 1957, designed by William Park Bell, and completed by his son William Francis Bell.
The Torrey Pines Golf Course has been hosting the Farmers Insurance Open every year since 1952. Prestigious tournaments like the U.S. Open have also been held at the venue.
The venue has two courses, North and South. The North is 7,258 yards while the South is 7,804 yards long. The South Course was redesigned by Rees Jones in 2001. The 2021 US Open was held at South Course.
Tiger Woods, who has been hosting the tournament since 2017, said (via PGA Tour):
"We are grateful to the City of San Diego and Torrey Pines for hosting the 2025 Genesis Invitational, and to everyone who has reached out in support of the tournament. While Riviera remains the home of The Genesis Invitational, we look forward to playing on another championship-caliber golf course this year and using the tournament to support those affected by the fires in the Los Angeles area."
Currently, the Farmers Insurance Open is underway at the course. However, as per the City of San Diego's official website, Torrey Pines will close both its courses from February 4 to 19 for the Genesis Invitational.
