Where is the inaugural Black Desert Championship? PGA Tour event’s venue explored

The Black Desert Championship is the PGA Tour's next stop, which will take place from 10 to 13 October and will be a four-day regular PGA Tour event. The venue of the event is Black Desert Resort Golf Course, crafted by Phil Smith and Tom Weiskopf.

The course stretches 7371 yards and was completed in 2023. It's a par 71 course, with a cut after two rounds. Following that, the golfers, who make it through the projected cutline, will play the weekend rounds.

The course will also host an LPGA Tour event in 2025. The PGA Tour last came to Utah for the Utah Open in 1963. The list of golfers in the Black Desert Championship field also includes some with connections to Utah. For example, Mike Weir lived in Salt Lake City for years. He was also the captain of the 2024 Presidents Cup international team.

The Black Desert Championship has a purse of $7.5 million and $1.35 million will go to the winner. The second and third-place finishers will get $817,500 and $517,500, respectively. The fourth and fifth finishers will receive $367,500 and $307,500, respectively.
