Team USA's star golfer Scottie Scheffler had a decent day two at the Le Golf National's Albatross golf course in the 2024 Paris Olympics. Before the tournament, Scheffler was one of the favorite golfers to win gold and is currently placed at T10 with the second round still underway.

Scottie was -4 and placed at T6, coming into the second round. Fans expected him to gain momentum in the second round and remain in the top half of the leaderboard. Unfortunately, the American golfer struggled to gain momentum as he failed to card a birdie on the front nine. He remained +2 for the day after nine holes as he carded a double bogey on the 7th hole.

Scheffler showcased his prowess on the back nine with four birdies and recovered well to finish his round with a score of -6. He remained bogey-free on the back nine and has an outside chance of winning a medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Scottie Scheffler is five strokes behind the three co-leaders. Tommy Fleetwood, Hideki Matsuyama, and Xander Schauffele are co-leading going into the weekend with a score of -11. The other Team USA golfers, Collin Morikawa and Wyndham Clark, are placed at T20 and T47, respectively.

"I think one time this year I took like a trophy, I took my green jacket and the plaid jacket, and I think I held like the Players trophy in one hand, and I had another trophy in the other hand and walked in the living room like, ‘Sup, Mer,'" Scheffler said.

However, he added that he was just a golfer, and what happens on the course doesn't define his life and that he was just happy to be playing.

“At the end of the day, I’m just a golfer and I’m just out here trying to compete. That’s really all there is to it, and sometimes I’m good at it and sometimes I’m bad at it. I’ve talked about it a lot. It doesn’t define me as a person. Doesn’t define my life and I’m just happy to be here," Scheffler said.
