The field for the 2024 Tour Championship was decided on Sunday, August 25, following the conclusion of the BMW Championship. Keegan Bradley shot an even-par 72 in the final round to beat Adam Scott, Ludvig Åberg, and Sam Burns by a stroke.

Bradley started the week at 50th in the FedEx Cup and narrowly qualified for the second event of the playoff. However, the victory earned him 2,000 FedEx Cup points, propelling him 46 spots up to fourth place.

Heading into the Tour Championship, Scottie Scheffler remains atop the FedEx Cup standings. Despite earning only 82 points at Castle Pines for his T33 finish, he maintains a 1,193-point lead over Xander Schauffele, who closed the gap slightly with 385 points for his T5 finish on Sunday.

Adam Scott, Chris Kirk, and Tommy Fleetwood were among the players who started outside the top 30 in the FedEx Cup but secured their spots in the Tour Championship after strong performances at the BMW Championship. Scott moved 27 spots to 14th after narrowly missing out on the title at Castle Pines. Fleetwood (22nd) and Kirk (26th) also jumped nine and six places, respectively.

Brian Harman and Si Woo Kim were notable names who narrowly missed qualifying for the Tour Championship. Harman shot 73 on Sunday, finishing 25th, which caused him to slip to 31st place in the FedEx Cup standings. Si Woo Kim finished T5 and jumped 12 spots in the FedEx Cup, but still missed the flight to East Lake by 37 points.

On the other hand, Jason Day, Davis Thompson, and Denny McCarthy, who started the week inside the top 30, failed to qualify for the season finale at East Lake due to poor performances at the BMW Championship.
