Aldrich Potgieter is the second youngest player to earn a PGA Tour card via the Korn Ferry Tour, doing so for the 2025 season. He did this by finishing 29th in the KFT Championship at the age of 20. Potgieter is the youngest after Jason Day, who was 19 years old when he graduated in 2007.

Potgieter also became the youngest winner in Korn Ferry Tour history at the age of 19 years old. He won the Bahamas Great Abaco Classic with 10-under 278, scoring 72, 70, 71, and 65 over the four rounds.

Potgieter expressed his exaltation after winning the Bahamas Great Abaco Classic. He also said he wanted to attain professional status soon. He said,

“It’s awesome…I was just trying to make the cut, trying to get that status, improve on the status. I didn’t expect this today... was playing really good golf from a young age, so I kind of thought from my view that college was like an extra four years of preparing to become professional in my eyes.”

Hailing from Mossel Bay, South Africa, Aldrich Potgieter started playing golf at an early age and attended the Louis Oosthuizen Junior Golf Academy in his hometown. Later, he joined the Kingsway Christian College of Perth. In 2020, he won the South Australian Junior Masters, and in 2021, the Western Australian Amateur.

Following that, he had two triumphs in 2022, at the Nomads South African Juniors International and at the Nomads SA Boys U19 Championship. Potgieter turned professional in 2023 and began playing on the Korn Ferry Tour. In 2024, the golfer had three top-ten finishes on the Korn Ferry Tour, including a T8 at the Memorial Health Championship.

Besides his three top-10 finishes, Potgieter also had a few missed cutlines this year.
