Recently, David Micheluzzi registered his name in the Guinness World Records after sinking a putt from an impressive 139-yard distance. He achieved this feat during the DP World Tour's Hero Challenge on the 7th hole of Yas Links in Abu Dhabi.

The DP World Tour hosted the Hero Challenge during the first week of this month ahead of the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship. Over 65 players, including the likes of Tommy Fleetwood, Min Woo Lee, Justin Rose, and Robert MacIntyre, attempted the putt. Ultimately, Micheluzzi claimed the record on his second attempt.

Micheluzzi was born on July 29, 1996, in Melbourne, Australia. He started playing golf in childhood and played as a junior at Cranbourne Golf Club. He came into prominence in 2017 when he claimed the Victorian Amateur Championship. The following year, he triumphed at the Australian Master of the Amateurs. He finished runner-up at the Australian Amateur after losing to Keita Nakajima in a playoff.

David Micheluzzi then made another runner-up finish at the Nexus Risk TSA Group WA Open on the PGA Tour of Australasia. As an amateur, he was also part of the Victorian team's win at the Australian Men's Interstate Teams Matches in three of his five appearances. He also represented his country in the 2018 Eisenhower Trophy.

Micheluzzi turned professional in 2019 and started playing on the PGA Tour of Australasia. His first professional win came three years later at the CKB WA PGA Championship, where he beat Ben Ferguson by three strokes.

So far, Micheluzzi has won four titles on the Australian circuit. Last year, he won the 2022–23 PGA Tour of Australasia Order of Merit to earn a DP World Tour playing card. Last week, he also hit the first tee shot of the new European Tour season at the BMW Australian PGA Championship.
