The first round of the 3M Open was played on Thursday, July 25th at the TPC Twin Cities in Minnesota. Rookie Jacob Bridgeman shot the best round of his PGA Tour career to take the lead.
Bridgeman leads the 3M Open at 8-under after the first round. Canada's Mackenzie Hughes is in second place, one stroke behind the leader.

Jacob Bridgeman's performance in the first round of the 3M Open included nine birdies and one bogey. Bridgeman's best golf came on the back nine, where he carded five birdies and no bogeys.
The 24-year-old Bridgeman has played in 18 PGA Tour events this season, making 10 cuts. His best finish was a T14 at the RBC Canadian Open. He enters the TPC Twin Cities having made three consecutive cuts.
His first round at the 3M Open was the best score of his PGA Tour career to date. His previous best score was a 65, which he has shot several times.
The top-ranked golfer in the field and title favorite Sahith Theegala finished the first round of the 3M Open bogey-free with five birdies (5-under, T6). Tony Finau was 4-under and tied for 14th.
Defending champion Lee Hodges finished the first round with a 73 and is tied for 123rd. Recent runner-up at the 2024 Open Championship, Billy Horschel, withdrew due to illness.
