Jiyai Shin had seven birdies and two bogeys to climb 10 places on the leaderboard and take the lead in the event. The two-time winner of the AIG Women's Open turned in an exceptional performance which was helped by Nelly Korda being far from her best.

The world number one lost the three-stroke lead she had at the start of the round as she carded four birdies, five bogeys, and a double bogey (3 over for the round). Korda will start the final round of the AIG Women's Open in third place, two shots behind Shin.

Lydia Ko and Jenny Shin moved up one and seven places respectively to tie for fourth place, three shots off the lead. Charley Hull, meanwhile, dropped eight places after a third round of 3-over and is tied for 10th place, five shots behind Shin.
