The second round of the 2024 Dubai Invitational ended without many changes at the top of the leaderboard. However, some players made interesting climbs and set the scene for a very interesting weekend.

Rory McIlroy continues to lead the tournament with a score of 10 under. The Northern Irishman's lead is still two strokes, but now two players share second place.

2024 Dubai Invitational second-round highlights

Rory McIlroy did not match his first-round performance, but it was enough to maintain his two-stroke lead over Yannik Paul. The Northern Irishman even had to recover from a quadruple bogey on the 8th hole.

The best score of the second round (66) was achieved by Denmark's Jeff Winther and the Netherlands' Joost Luiten. This was enough for Winther to climb eight places on the leaderboard and tie with Paul. Luiten, on the other hand, jumped 22 steps and sits now in T10.

Another player who improved his performance was Adrian Meronk. He climbed from T20 to T10 with a 67 in the second round. Meanwhile, Tommy Fleetwood and Thorbjørn Olesen remained well positioned in fourth place after identical scores of 69.
