Who is leading the 2024 Zozo Championship after Day 2? Leaderboard explored

Day 2 of the 2024 Zozo Championship ended with Nico Echavarria on top of the leaderboard at the Accordia Golf Narashino Country Club in Japan. The 30-year-old Colombian golfer shot a 6-under 64 on Friday, matching his 64 on Thursday, to take a two-stroke lead over the likes of Taylor Moore and Justin Thomas.

Thomas shot a 64, while Moore recorded a 67 to settle for T2 after Round 2. Meanwhile, Seamus Power carded the day’s low round of 62 to sit three shots behind the leader. The Irishman shared the position with Eric Cole (67) and C.T. Pan (66).

Notably, fan favorite Rickie Fowler followed up his opening round 68 with a 64 on Friday. He sat four shots back going into the weekend alongside Max Greyserman (68).

Taisei Shimizu shot a 67, after an opening round 66, to sit T9. He enters the weekend as the sole Japanese golfer in the Zozo Championship leaderboard’s top 10. Japanese hero and event favorite Hideki Matsuyama shot his second 71 to sit 14 shots off the lead after Round 2.

Meanwhile, Zozo Championship defending champion Collin Morikawa shot 67. He sat eight shots off the lead, as the event’s top-rated golfer Xander Schauffele settled 10 shots behind the leader at T42.
