Who is Luke Kwon? All you need to know about the inaugural Creator Classic edition winner

Luke Kwon is a South Korean golfer, who recently emerged victorious at the 2024 Creator Classic. The inaugural edition of the tournament was held at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia on Wednesday a day before the 2024 Tour Championship.

Eight holes were played in stroke play where Kwon scored 1-under. The top four players from 16 creators qualified for the playoffs which included Luke Kwon, Wesley Bryan, Roger Steele, and Sean Walsh. On the par-5 18th, Kwon scored a birdie to win the tournament.

The 31-year-old received a trophy and a griddle from the event's sponsor, Blackstone.

Talking about his win, Kwon said (via Golf Digest):

"It's really cool to win because these are some of the biggest creators out there."

Luke Kwon was born on August 11, 1992, to Peter and Sara Kwon in Seoul, South Korea. He went to college at the University of Oklahoma. He did his freshman year at St. Edwards University and his remaining years at Oklahoma. In his final year, he won the 2016 Puerto Rico Individual Classic.

Luke Kwon turned professional in 2016 and currently resides in Carrollton, Texas. Since turning professional, he has played on various Tours including PGA Tour Latinoamerica, PGA Tour China and Korn Ferry Tour.

Kwon played the 2019 season on the PGA Tour China. He won the 2019 Qinhuangdao Championship by one shot over Canada's Myles Creighton. He had six top-10 finishes and nine top-25 finishes and qualified for the Korn Ferry Tour. However, in 16 starts on the Korn Ferry Tour, he only made six cuts and missed 10 cuts.

In 2021 and 2022, he played on the PGA Tour Latinoamerica. He has also been a forecaddie at Dallas National.
