The 2023 Masters was interrupted by heavy rainfall and the second round was suspended only to start on Saturday morning. After the semi-finished second round, 50 players have scored above the projected 2-par over cut.
LIV Golf player Brooks Koepka maintained the lead after the second round and will be playing in the third round. Jon Rahm has only played on nine holes and will resume the second round at 8 am ET on April 8. However, he has made the cut in the tournament alongside amateur golfers Sam Bennett, Collin Morikawa and Viktor Hovland.
Jason Day secured the sixth position after Friday's round with a scoring deficit of five along with Sam Burns.
Jordan Spieth and Cameron Young will also make the cut at the Masters and so will LIV Golf player Phil Mickelson, who finished with a scoring deficit of four on Friday.
Former World No. 1 Adam Scott will play in the third round as he has secured 10th position with a score of under-4. Patrick Reed also settled for 10th place with a score of under-4 alongside Joaquin Niemann, Justin Rose, Shane Lowry, Gary Woodland and Russell Henley.
K.H. Lee, Chris Kirk, Hideki Matsuyama and Ryan Fox have also scored above the projected cut of 2-par and have secured a spot for the third round.
Tiger Woods and JT Poston are on the borderline of the projected cut with a score of exactly 2. They will also probably play in the last two rounds of the 2023 Masters.
List of all golfers who qualified for third round of The Masters
Eighty-eight golfers qualified for the 2023 Masters, but Kevin Na and Will Zalatoris withdrew from the competition ahead of the start of the first round. Aaron Wise also qualified for the Masters but did not play to focus on his mental health.
After the first round, Jon Rahm, Brooks Koepka, and Viktor Hovland took the lead but the second round was delayed due to thunderstorms and heavy rainfall. However, golfers have played almost half the round and it's almost clear that the top 50 on the leaderboard will qualify for the third round.
However, the final list will be out once the second round is completed on Saturday morning.
