The first round of the 2024 LIV Golf Promotions took place this Thursday (Dec. 12), at the Riyadh Golf Club in Saudi Arabia. The event will award the winner with a contract to play in the breakaway league for the 2025 season.
Korea's Jeunghun Wang was the leader after the first round of the LIV Golf Promotions with a score of 7 under. The top 20 (plus ties) made the cut and will play the second round on Friday.

These 21 players will join 29 others who will be exempt to play in the second round of the LIV Golf Promotions. Scores from the first round will be cancelled so all players will start on a level playing field.
Five players who played in LIV Golf during the 2024 season stand out on the list of exempt players. They are Hudson Swafford, Kieran Vincent, Scott Vincent, Branden Grace and Kalle Samooja.
Some of the top players on the Asian Tour International Series will also be there. They include John Catlin, Ben Campbell and Michael Maguire.

At the end of the second round, the top 20 players (plus ties) will qualify for the third and fourth rounds, which will be played on the same day (December 14th).
A look at the players who missed the cut
Among the players who missed the cut in the first round of the LIV Golf Promotions, several DP World Tour and even PGA Tour winners stand out. This is the case of Martin Trainer, who has one victory on the American Tour and two on the European Tour.
Also missing the cut were Adri Arnaus, Wade Ormsby and Renato Paratore, all with at least one DP World Tour victory.
