The 2024 Hero World Challenge concluded on Sunday, December 8 at Albany Golf Club in the Bahamas. Scottie Scheffler became the third player to successfully defend his title at the event, joining Tiger Woods (2007) and Viktor Hovland (2022).
Scheffler won the Hero World Challenge with a score of 25 under, six strokes ahead of runner-up Tom Kim. The previous day leader Justin Thomas slipped to third.
Scheffler's paycheck for winning the event was $1 million. All players received more than $150,000 for their performances.

Scottie Scheffler showed all his potential in the fourth round at the Albany Golf Club, carding nine birdies without a bogey. This performance not only allowed him to unseat the day's leader but also to finish with a solid six-shot lead.
His score of 25 under 263 matched the tournament record since it was played at Albany. Bubba Watson set the record in 2015, a year after Jordan Spieth set the all-time event record of 826 under 262 at Isleworth.
It is Scheffler's ninth victory worldwide in 2024 and his tenth in the last 12 months (7 PGA Tour official events). The one-year tally begins in December 2023, when he won his first title in Albany and is as follows:

After winning the event, Scottie Scheffler had this to say (via PGA Tour News Service)
"Very satisfying. I did a lot of good stuff today on the course. It feels nice to take a break and come back and continue to play some really solid golf."
During the fourth round, Tiger Woods was part of the Golf Channel broadcasts from the booth, where he was joined by renowned broadcaster Jim Natz, among others. Woods praised Scheffler's performance, saying he "does nothing wrong."
