Who won the 2024 Nedbank Golf Challenge? Final leaderboard explored

The 2024 Nedbank Golf Challenge concluded on Sunday, December 8 at the Gary Player Country Club in Sun City, South Africa. The event proved to be a challenging test of golf with only 17 players carding par or better over 72 holes.

American Johannes Veerman won the Nedbank Golf Challenge with a score of 5-under par. Local player and day three leader Aldrich Potgieter could not hold on to his position and dropped to second place.

Johannes Veerman began the fourth round of the Nedbank Golf Challenge five shots behind 54-hole leader Aldrich Potgieter. But while the South African could not match his performance of the previous day, the American produced his best round of the event to clinch the title.

Veerman carded six birdies and three bogeys on Sunday for a 3-under 66, while Potgieter carded four birdies, two bogeys, a double bogey, and a triple bogey for a 3-over 75.

Speaking to the DP World Tour News Service after his victory, Veerman said:

"I didn't have the best seasons the last two years. I put a lot of work in, me and my team - countless hours. To win this season, to start off this season with a win is indescribable."

The winner of the 2023 Nedbank Golf Challenge, Max Homa, had another difficult round with two birdies and five bogeys. This saw him drop 10 places on the leaderboard to finish in a tie for 14th.
